Roger Perry Hands Art Collection

Roger Perry Hands was a great friend of my late parents. His sketches and watercolours have been part of my life since I was about 14 (in 1985). Roger led a colourful life in so many ways. He could turn his hand to pretty much anything - as well as his art, he was a wonderful musician, an inventive cook and tremendously good company. He left an everlasting impression on me and his spirit will live on in what of him I pass onto my children, and maybe one day, theirs too.

Most of the work here is from North Cornwall, on Bodmin Moor and around Launcells, Kilkhampton, Morwenstow and Bude. Some is from the other side of the border in Devon, around Dartmoor and the South Hams. Roger died in February 2011.

There are over 100 pieces in this collection. You will note not all of the pictures are signed as some will have been experimental and/or work in progress. In some cases the signature has been cropped out as I have uploaded the images.

Roger said, "David my dear boy, it is very difficult to change the world. But what you can do is be a kind and generous friend to those in your vicinity. This will make all the difference".

This is a gallery of his art for your enjoyment. I do not currently have any plans to sell any of the work, but if you would like to express an interest, do email me at the address below.
